BERSEK
After nearly 20 years hiatus, the black swordsman returns in this bloody good continuation of Kentaro Miuta's dark fantasy series. Guts' quest for vengeance against God Hand offers up plenty of gritty actions and drama: there are bloody tavern brawls, demonic possession, plague and pestilence, and entire demon armies getting wrecked by Guts' giant broadsword and mechanical arm. It's a familiar pattern of violence and angst, and exactly what we expect from Bersek.
DAYS
DAYS follows the story of ordinary student, Tsukushi Tsukomoto, who unintentionally falls into the sport of soccer. While Tsukamoto has no experience with soccer, being on a team with with his fellow peers gives him the drive to try be his best no matter the obstacles. DAYS has the usual themes of sport anime, but the growing relationship between the new team members really takes the spotlight. Although Tsukamoto is a complete newbie, it'll be interesting to see how far his passion will take him as the season goes.
